Being a reptile keeper, it seems like expenses always come up. Light bulbs pop, food has to be ordered, or that species you can never find is finally up for sale. Bottom line is we can all use a little help saving and even better, finding easy ways to get a few extra bucks. So I will tell you three ways that actually worked for me and that I personally used. I will also list a couple of things I tried that were a total waste of time to save you the trouble.
1. Qapital
I love this app. Essentially it rounds up your purchases on your debit card and stores away your change in an FDIC account. You set goals you are saving up for and you can withdraw your money back into your primary account whenever you need. There are no fees for this service and it has worked very well for helping me put away a little extra money. When you use the link below, both you and I will get 5$ once you make a deposit.Qapital Savings App
2. Ebates
By installing this chrome add on, you get a percentage of your purchase when shopping at popular sites like Ebay, Walmart, Amazon, Overstock, The Container Store, Groupon, and Blue Apron. Not using this offer is just leaving free money on the table. When you spend 25$ after signing up with the link below, you will receive 10$. Ebates
3. Charles Swab High Yield Investment Account
This is a totally free checking account and investment account with no annual fees or minimum balance requirements. When you make any deposit of 1$ or more into the account, you will receive 100$ deposited into your account for Charles Swab. You need to sign up with the code REFER to get this offer (good as of 2/24/2018). VERY IMPORTANT: When you click the link, you are taken to a page where you push an open account button. On the very next screen you must enter the code by clicking "Add an offer/referral code". Make sure you enter the code REFER there. http://content.schwab.com/web/retail/public/get-started/checking/
Now there have been a few ways I tried to make money online that were a complete waste of time. They aren't scams exactly, but the amount of effort to earn a tiny amount of money makes them an unwise use of time in my opinion. Swagbucks: This one might be OK for the referral offers, but as far as using the site it is very much a waste of time and energy and I refuse to push such a waste of time onto my trusted readers. Survey sites: Unless it is an in person survey, I would not bother. Likely you'll find it difficult to collect the money as the minimums are so frustrating to get to most people just quit before then. Any guru who claims to make millions of dollars on the Internet and has a course to sell you. Doesn't anyone wonder how the person has time to make a course when they have so many millions to spend?
